Wellbeing 2.0 : the Australasian context

Referring to the 2021 Mayo clinic paper by Tait D Shanafelt MD which characterised the evolution of knowledge, thinking and practice relating to doctors’ workplace wellbeing, this presentation will explore the Australasian journey to date drawing on global, national and local experience asking where are we and where are we going? [1]

Specifically, we will review our current data and progress to define the issue, identify drivers and measure and implement effective individual and system level solutions to reduce occupational distress and improve doctor’s health, wellbeing, occupational safety and professional fulfilment.

This discussion will take an aerial view before zooming in on some bi-national examples of current best practice in wellbeing leadership, policy, strategy, and evidence-based initiatives which could serve as blueprints for wider implementation.
